I guess thinking about today’s technology, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s a way to go over two miles deep in a capsule and view the actual wreckage of the Titanic but nonetheless, I’m quite shocked to see this is a reality.. If you have $60,000 that is, but seriously if I had the money I’d book this in an instant.
It was almost 100 years ago, on April 14, 1912 at 11:40pm when the Titanic struck an iceberg and by 2:20am it was on it’s way to the bottom of the ocean where it is now settled about 12,500 feet underwater. The tragedy claimed 1,517 lives and to date remains one of the worst cruise ship disasters ever. Coming up in 2012, Deep Ocean Exploration is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience to go down in a capsule and view the actual wreckage to mark the 100 year anniversary.
