Called “The National Newspaper of the Travel Industry,” TravelWeekly is a site that I recently discovered and it provides a vast wealth of insight into the travel industry. Some of the random articles from their homepage that I enjoyed are:
- “Kenya Resurgent”
- “The largest single market out of the States is the boomers,” Herbert said. “They’re the ones who are accumulating experiences now. I had a client say to me, ‘At this stage of my life, I’ve stopped accumulating assets and started accumulating experiences.’ And Africa is a very experiential destination.”
- “Consumer media discover that travel agents do still exist”
- “Ryanair and the art of the fee”
Travel Weekly is a national newspaper printed for travel agents that has been around since 1958.
Travel Weekly provides travel professionals with a necessary global perspective through in-depth coverage of every business sector, including airline, car rental, cruise, destination, hotel and tour operator as well as technology, economic and governmental issues.
In addition to the print edition, Travel Weekly sends out a regular e-newsletter containing breaking news and top headlines, as well as several e-newsletters featuring specific destination and news topics. The company also maintains a twitter and Facebook presence. Its main website features breaking news articles and analysis, videos, photos, interviews, opinion pieces and other items that are geared toward travel agents and executives on the sales and marketing end of the travel business.
